Hey, good for you! Hope you had fun at your convention. I should have been at one, but my darn ankle kept me home. Grrr.
ReplyDeleteAnother local writer was supposed to be with me, but he also injured his ankle and couldn't make it.
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun convention, but I'm beginning to think maybe the financial outlay just isn't worth the promotion I'm getting out of it.
Geez, I thought my ankle thing wasn't catching. I stayed home, I swear!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I was wondering if the outlay was over the hotel. When I was at ConQuest a couple years ago, the hotel where it was held didn't charge for parking and had pretty reasonable rates in the restaurant.
Most of our out-of-town conventions are a huge outlay by the hotel alone. This one had the added bonus of paying for parking and no good alternatives to the expensive restaurants.
ReplyDeleteI seem to remember talking to someone at the con about the fact they used to hold it elsewhere. Apparently (according to them) it's really improved by the change in venue.
